On the morning of January 23, 2006, Academician and Chief Engineer Cao Xianghong of China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. (CPCC), visited YCF to make supervision and guidance. He inspected several sites such as the No.2 Plant of PTA Centre, the Second Plant of PET Centre, the 200,000-ton SSP Project of Bottle-Grade Chip Centre, the Film Laboratory of Technology Centre, and the No.
2 polyester film production line of Yihua Toray Polyester Film Co., Ltd. (YTPF) Meanwhile, he extended his regards to the cadres and staff on the scene. He emphasized that all measures should be tried to lower the consumption of energy and resources based on the present technology, no matter the plants were new or old.
And new approaches to alternative energy should be explored. By doing so, it would improve the quality of products and develop new practical varieties. YCF officials such as Qian Hengge, Xu Zhengning, Xiao Weizhen and Shen Xijun accompanied Cao during the inspection.
In the field of production and relevant control room, Cao acquainted himself with the present situation of production and major process flows in details, especially the consumption of energy and resources, the demand and supply of technical innovation project as well as its effects. He pointed out that active efforts should be made to implement the technical innovation project on the energy saving, consumption reduction, discharge decrease, cost reduction and the development of new products.
He also inquired earnestly about the operation of the two PTA plants, listened to the bottlenecks during the steady economical operation of the plants and accepted the advice on the technical innovation for the bottlenecks. Besides, Cao also learned about the "Ten Dragon Project" of CPCC and the situation of SSP plant of the 200,000-ton bottle grade chips after commencement of production and operation.
Meanwhile, he made some requirements for developing new specialized technology. In the Technology Centre and YTPF, Cao encouraged the staff to make use of the advanced experimental system and manage the development of new products and specialized technology, including the development and application of prospective products and environment-friendly products such as the study on synthesis and process of polylactic acid chips.
Cao pointed out that by means of technical development and refined management, YCF could improve the quality and added value of its products. With high added value and high-quality products, YCF could promote its competitiveness and profitability on the market.
