Exciting news come from the YCF Bottle Grade Chip Centre (the Centre) recently. According to the fax delivered by the Shanghai Headquarters of Coca Cola Corp., YCF's S4 and S5 lines of BG 85 bottle grade chips have an access to the Coca Cola certification due to the preliminary satisfying results of taste testing, physical testing and one-month storage testing.

The quality of polyester bottle grade chip products, which depends on the acquisition of market access certification, is vital to the success of a polyester bottle grade chip company in fierce competition. Moreover, it helps to promote a company's image. Since the start-up of the 200,000-ton polyester bottle grade chip project in December 2004, the largest polyester bottle grade technological transformation project in mainland China, continuous efforts have been made on the enhancement of field control, exploration for new advanced technology and optimization of economical operation.

Besides, an objective to pass trial certification in June 2006 has been set up. Therefore, efforts have been made by the Centre to assure the field safety and guarantee the steady high yield. On the other hand, technical personnel have been organized to tackle key problems and carry out the technical innovation in terms of the equipment operation and the bottleneck that influence the major functions of bottle grade chips.

In order to improve the lye-cracking resistance of BG85 equipment, joint efforts have been made by the Biological Technology Office of the Centre and the Second Plant Office of PET Centre to optimize the technology. As a result, the performance indicator of the 200,000-ton BG 85 bottle grade chips has been promoted steadily, and its lye-cracking resistance has reached domestic advanced level.

The chips have come into use in an expanded scope after passing the experiment certification. Furthermore, they have passed the Coca Cola trial certification two months in advance.

It is learnt that the S4 and S5 lines' access to the certification lasts six months. Thus, YCF requires the Centre to prepare for the follow-up certification. So far, all products on the YCF's five production lines of bottle grade chips have passed the Coca Cola certification. All this has greatly improved the brand image of YCF and the market competitiveness of its bottle grade chip products.
