Apr.17th President Xiao was invited to visit CSIRO Brisbane after ending his APAIE education conference in Brisbane. The chief researcher of CSIRO Dr Xun Luo welcomed President Xiao and introduced the CSIRO s general information, the key research areas and close cooperative projects with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Research institutes, and China Higher Learning institutions for the last thirty years.
During the meeting, President Xiao expressed his special thanks to Dr. Luo for his contribution involving in the university s joint education program and joint research projects. Following on, the university will strengthen its links with CSIRO specifically in the areas of environmental science, civil engineering, manufacturing science and mine prospecting.
President Xiao also met Mr. Duan Yi, a graduate student of our university, who is involving in the research projects under the supervisor of Dr. Luo. President Xiao extended his best wishes to Mr. Duan for his opportunity and research experience in CSIRO.
