lOn December 8, 2009, the former Deputy Secretary of the US Department of Commerce Frank Lavin and his wife Ann Lavin paid a visit to GDUFS. President of GDUFS Sui Guangjun as well as staff in the Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies met the guests and discussed current global issues.
lHosted by the Faculty of Asian Language and Culture, Omotesenke, one of the Japanese teaceremony schools, attracted students from the Japanese Department to their get-together on December 5th. Volunteers from the Association of Japanese Women in Guangzhou presented a traditional Japanese tea ceremony to students, who enjoyed it immensely.
lOn December 9th, the 2009 Confucius Institute Conference was given in the north campus of GDUFS. Representatives from overseas Confucius institutes and GDUFS attended the conference to discuss the current situation and to establish new cooperative agreements.
lDec 5th - Two students from School of International Trades & Economics at GDUFS, Liu Sheng and Wen Jinfeng, were specially invited to the 4th International Conference on "Regional Cooperation and Innovation in Asia" which was hosted by universities of several Asian countries. The two students shared their opinions about this year's topic, Post-Finance Crisis Economic Development: Challenges & Prospects"
lDecember 4th was a hot day for GDUFS as about 15,000 graduates crowded into the job fair set in the north campus of GDUFS. Competition was fierce as an enormous amount of graduates are seeking jobs and the labor market is still tight.
lIn order to commemorate the university student movement which broke out on December 9, 1935, the Guangzhou Ballet brought their performance Feng Xue Ye Gui Ren to GDUFS s south campus stage. Feng Xue Ye Gui Ren is a sad love story which reflects people's eagerness for freedom and the dark side of Chinese society in the 1930's.
