lThe Guangdong Open Forum & Unveiling Ceremony of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies were both held at GDUFS on November 13th. Chief government officials and representatives from 17 embassies in Guangzhou attended the event, hoping for more opportunities to establish cooperative relationships between Guangdong and the world.

lThe 2009 CNMUN (China National Model United Nations) came to a close on November 8th.The delegation from GDUFS was awarded the Best Position Paper Award, Outstanding Delegation Award and Best Delegate Award. The instructor of GDUFS delegation, Su Gaoyang, was also honored with the Faculty Advisor Award. This year, the topics for the conference were, The Universality and Particularity of Human Rights" and Children's Right to Education".

lIn order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Russia as well as have a better understanding of each other, a delegation of performers from the College of Art at GDUFS travelled to Russia . During October 22nd to the 29th, the delegation performed in Yekaterinburg and at the Confucius Institute at Kazan State where their performance was warmly received by the audience.

lGDUFS welcomed two black swans given by Chime-Long Group on November 10th. The two black swans will settle down in the Yuxin Lake in the southern campus of GDUFS. The General Manager of Chime-Long Group, Dong Guixin and the Secretary of Party Committee GDUFS XuZhenhua attended the handing over ceremony. Xu Zhenhua hoped that by raising swans more people would better appreciate harmony between humanity and nature.

lOn the evening of November 5th, foreign teachers and students at GDUFS presented a marvelous gala to the audience in the conference hall for the Multi-Culture Festival celebration. The President and Vice President of GDUFS, as well as a numbers of overseas Chinese guests were also invited. Vice President Gu Yeli encouraged Chinese students and foreign students studying at GDUFS to get to know each other better.

l On November 9th, Mr. Liu Xianfang, the Vice President of the Business School of New York

Institute of Technology arrived at GDUFS for a friendly visit. On behalf of New York Institute

of Technology, Mr. Liu signed a contract with GDUFS MBA Education Center, for further

cooperation.
