l November 17th, seven junior students from the Faculty of Arts and Education at Deakin University in Australia started their three-week Global Experience Programme at the English School Attached to GDUFS. Led by Dr. Wendy Jobling, these Australian students will experience a real Chinese teaching class and discuss English-teaching methods with teachers at the English School Attached to GDUFS.
l The Tenth GDUFS Students Track and Field Games started on November 20th. CPC Secretary Xu Zhenhua and Vice President of GDUFS Zhong Weihe attended the opening ceremony which featured a lion dancing performance. Students from 19 faculties including 5 international students took part in this sporting event.
l Students from Confucius Institute of Santa Maria Catholic University in Peru are partaking in a one-month Chinese culture journey at GDUFS. During the first few weeks, the Peruvian students received lessons about Chinese culture delivered by the Dean of Institute of Education for International Students and junior students from the Spanish Department of Faculty of Western Language and Culture.
l The National Foreign Language College Library Alliance Meeting was held at GDUFS s library on November 17th. The Library Alliance aims to better develop digital resources and special library data base of, hoping to build an advanced service platform for all national foreign language colleges.
l The Sixth ASEAN EXPO was held in Nanning, Guangxi Province. During this activity, forty postgraduates from the School of Interpreting & Translation Studies and five students majoring in Vietnamese from the Faculty of Asian Languages and Cultures successfully accomplished the translation task. Their professional translation services helped them achieve satisfying results.
