lThailand's Consul General in Guangzhou, Mr. PisanuSuvanajata visited GDUFS on September 16th. After a reception hosted by Vice President Gu Yeli, the delegation, led by the Consul General, attended the opening ceremony of GDUFS's Thailand Cultural Exhibition Room. The delegation also included Thailand's Custom Consul and Commercial Consuls.
lGDUFS Vice President Gu Yeli traveled to Spain to attend the first Ibero-America Confucius Institute Joint Conference on September 5th. Organized by the Office of Chinese Language Council International (nicknamed Hanban in Chinese) and hosted by the University of Valencia, the conference took place in the beautiful coastal city of Valencia.
lThe Confucius Institute from SapporoUniversity held an opening ceremony at the GDUFS Meeting Room on September 7th to mark its first summer camp, in which 25 students were warmly welcomed. The Dean of Confucius Institute at SapporoUniversity, Zhang Weixiong, GDUFS Vice-President Gu Yeli, and International Office Director Jiao Fangtai were all in attendance. The two-week summer camp aimed at deepening students' understanding of not only Guangzhou s traditions but also ofChinese culture.
lA delegation from the University of Queensland visited GDUFS on September 11th.The visiting delegation was composed of Executive Dean of Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, Professor Tim Brailsford, Vice Dean Professor Sarah Derrington, and the Director of International Relations Michael Chen. Vice President of GDUFS Gu Yeli held a reception for the Australian delegation, where they later engaged in an in-depth discussion on future cooperation between these two universities.
