lFrom October 5th to the 17th, twenty-five students and teachers from GDUFS joined the Guangdong province college students exchange group to Japan. They visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka as well as other cities. Students learned more about Japanese economy and culture and came home with a better understanding of the relationship between China and Japan.

lThe original poem competition, themed "Homeland in My Heart", was held at North Campus, No.6 Teaching Building Auditorium on October 15th. Competitors expressed their patriotism through their works.

lOn October 3rd, the 2009 SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) China National Champion - GDUFS SIFE team, which includes 19 members and its instructor Lin Hongwei, advanced to Berlin to compete with 44 SIFE champions from around the world for the world champion honor.

lMatthew Horn, a foreign teacher at GDUFS, was received by Xiao Zhiheng, Vice President of Guangdong Province after coming back from Beijing where he took part in the National Day reception with his wife. Xiao Zhiheng took the time to thank them for their contribution to the development of Guangdong Province.

lTo celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a flag -raising ceremony was held simultaneously on GDUFS's north and south campus at 8 am, October 1. School leaders, teachers and students took part in the ceremony.
