December 14th - Dr. Hannelore Lee-Jahnke, President of Conference Internationale Permanente d'Instituts Universitaires de Traducteurs et Interpretes (CUITI) and Professor of University of Geneva, lectured on Interdisciplinary in Translation Training on the invitation of GDUFS School of Interpreting and Translation Studies(SITS). Xie Wenxin, Director of Personnel Department, Ping Hong, Deen of SITS, together with staff members and students of the school attended the lecture.
December 15th - Dr. Martin Forstner, Secretary General of CUITI and Professor of University of Mainz, gave a lecture entitled New Geopolitical Settings and Their Repercussions on Translation Training, exploring the prospect of translation training in the changing global environment. Ping Hong, Deen of SITS, and other faculties attended the lecture.
December 15th - A delegation from the Macau Foundation, led by President Wu Zhiliang, visited GDUFS on the north campus, where he was greeted by Sui Guangjun, GDUFS CPC Secretary; Jiao Fangtai, Director of the International Office, and staff of Faculty of European Languages and Cultures. The two sides discussed over cooperation issues to boost the development of the Portuguese language teaching in GDUFS.
December 17th - A Thai Delegation consists of Kasit Piromya, Foreign Affair Minister of Thailand, Rathakit Manathat, the Thailand ambassador to China, and other Thai administrators visited GDUFS. President Zhong Weihe, Vice President Chen Deping met with the guests. Mr. Kasit Piromya lectured on The Chance and Challenges Facing the Chinese and Thai Youth. Cooperation in students and teaching staff exchange were also discussed during their visit.
