The Confucius Institute of Ljubljana University in Slovenia held China Day

On November 11th, the Confucius Institute of Ljubljana University in Slovenia celebrated China Day themed Get to Know China. The celebration venue was decorated with lanterns, colored ribbons and Chinese national flags. Yang Jianzhong, counselor of Chinese Embassy in Slovenia and some of the students from Ljubljana University attended the celebration.

During the celebration, students from different schools of Ljubljana University and residents from the neighboring communities enjoyed performances with Chinese characteristics such as Chinese folksongs, calligraphy, kung fu, and tea arts. Local students majoring Chinese Studies and teachers from the Confucius Institute recited Chinese classical poems. Their excellent performance were applauded by the audiences.

After the performances, the students experienced traditional Chinese culture by taking part in activities such as tea tasting, Chinese calligraphy and making dumplings.

On the same day, the Confucius Institute started the first Chinese Film Week and played five contemporary Chinese movies for the students of Ljubljana University.
