On September 16th, SIFT celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Alumni from home and abroad gathered together to celebrate the fiftieth birthday of their alma mater. The ceremony kicked off at 9:30 a.m. in the stadium of Shanghai University Student Sports Center.
Leadership of more than 50 institutions of higher education from Shanghai and other places of China, delegation from Taiwan Takming University of Science and Technology and presidents and delegates from 10 universities in Britain, America, Canada, Australia Holland, Slovenia, attended the ceremony.
President Sun Haiming reviewed the splendid achievements of SIFT in the past 50 years and expressed SIFT determination to grasp new opportunities brought by a new round of development in China s higher education according to the spirit of national and Shanghai municipal medium and long-term educational reform and development plans.
SIFT would continually improve its teaching quality and academic level and make great efforts to build SIFT into a leading university among its kind, a high-level internationally influential university of international business and economics with distinct university characteristics in academic disciplines and way of operation.
