Extensive and in-depth discussions were held on four aspects: 1. How to rebuild the theory of class literature and trace back to the mechanism of classic literature and how to see challenges facing classic literature in a post-modern era. 2. The main topic of the forum is to explore classic literature in various countries and areas and extensive discussions were held on classic literature in Arab, France, UK, Russia, Japan and China. 3. Another prominent feature of the forum is to explore how some foreign literary works become classic in China and how some classic Chinese works are accepted abroad. 4. The most heated discussion is on classic literature teaching and disciple system.

During the Forum, a roundtable and salon on Japanese literature study hosted by Professior Weniejdorkova was held. After the Forum, Professor Weniejdorkova gave an English lecture on Literature and National Identity to students and the faculty of the School of Literature.

The Forum speaks for the strength of our university in comparative literature and world literature and the team spirit of the department and is widely recognized by delegates at home and abroad.
