Opening Ceremony 2007

The Opening Ceremony 2007 for freshmen students was held in the Stadium, Northern Campus, CapitalNormalUniversity on the afternoon of September 6.

The ceremony was presided over by Chen Ning, Deputy Party Secretary of the University. President Liu Xincheng expressed warm welcome to more than 2600 freshmen students on behalf of the university leadership, students and the faculty. He expressed the hope that all freshmen students will graduate as talented and fully-developed grown-ups and wished them progress and happiness in learning and living.

A teacher representative called upon students to learn to live in amity with others and explore the academic world hand in hand; learn to think, learn to challenge oneself and learn to be innovative; keep elevating oneself and going beyond the limits and regain glory under a new learning environment. A student representative of higher grade called upon students to be strict with themselves while taking care of others concerns, seek truth by adopting a pragmatic approach and keep scaling new heights in sciences and wished all students even greater progress in the future. The freshman representative said that they would cherish the four years of life on campus and make a good start from now on, study hard, strive to be a talented person and add to the glory of the university. The ceremony came to a close amid a big applause.
