Delegation from Rhodes University, South Africa Visiting JNU

From Dec. 7 to 8, a delegation headed by Prof. Peter Clayton, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Rhodes University, South Africa visited Jinan University and was received by President Hu Jun and Vice President Jia Yimin respectively. The delegation also included Prof. Marius Vermaak, Dean of the International Office, RU and Prof. Chris Whitely.

On the afternoon of Dec. 8, Vice President Jia presided over the 2nd meeting of the Board of Directors of the Confucius Institute at Rhodes University. The meeting was attended by members of the board, Prof. Huifen Yu, Director of International Office, Prof. Chao Ban, Director of Jinan University Center for International Chinese Language and Culture Programs, Prof. Guo Xi, Dean of College of Chinese Language and Culture (JNU) and Prof. Ma Yue, Chinese Dean of the Confucius Institute. Further plans of the Confucius Institute were discussed through the meeting.

The delegation also visited the Jinan University history exhibition, library, College of Pharmacy, College of Journalism and Communication and International School during their stay and had a fruitful meeting with deans from the above mentioned colleges as well from the College of Arts, College of Information Science and Technology, College of Life Science and Technology, Law School, Medical School and the Tourism Management Dept. of the Management School.
