The look ranged from pretty, ethereal silhouettes to classic Americana, global chic and borrowed-from-the-boys basics. Here is a recap of key trends from the front lines of Fashion Week.
Boys' Club
The look has been popularized by model Agyness Deyn, and it's one of the strongest of the season. Ranging from preppy to über-hip, key pieces include blazers, the boyfriend jean, shorts, vests, men's shirts and oversize silhouettes.
Going Beyond Borders
Designers continue their love affair with fashion around the globe. The look ranges from exotic African and animal prints to urban-nomad chic. Some of the freshest looks fuse modernity with sophistication, such as T-shirts, caftans, harem pants and dresses with architectural construction, tie-dyed effects and subtle draping details.
Dream State
Dreamy, ethereal silhouettes evoke a modern femininity for Spring. Think fairy-tale styles to transcend everyday realities. Sheer, delicate chiffons, pastel colors and ombré treatments decorate soft Grecian silhouettes and one-shoulder dresses. Hooked on 'New' Classics
Classic Americana is the new chic. But it's not your typical straight-laced preppy kind of traditional. The look is timeless, subtle and chic. Whether it stems from a desire to be patriotic or is an answer to the economic crunch, classic American sportswear is en vogue for Spring. The "new" classics include easy breezy silk dresses, chic blazers, jumpsuits, rompers and clean-tailored suitings.
