The private member of Zimbabwe West Kadoma Zachariah Ziyambi said that government should ensure the feasible cotton price this year for the surviving of cotton planter.
Zachariah Ziyambi said that cotton price should be 7times of corn price because planting cotton should pay more tax than planting corn. If government cant offer a competitive price, cotton planter have to give up planting cotton instead of planting corn. Last year, government have claimed that corn purchase price in this year will be $ 3100/ton while last year one is $2.2million/ton. Zimbabwe government can be seen to negotiate with cotton promotion committee and other organization for accelerating cotton price because last year, cotton planter complain that the price--$4500/ton lead to the much lower profit than the one from other crop .
