SAFTA have not offered favorable country treatment to India

The business general secretary of Pakistan claim that South Asia Free Trade Area agreement have not required Pakistan to offer favorable country treatment to India.

The development of bilateral trade is the active result of frequent dialogue between Pakistan and India, which play an active role in trade between Pakistan and India.

If Pakistan can not offer favorable country treatment to India due to politics factor, it must make out new short-term passive commodity list replacing of preview optimistic one and allow to import all commodity havent listed in passive commodity list.

GDP of Pakistan and India account for 90% of GDP in South-Asia, regional trade accounting for 0.4% of world trade. The economy increasing in South-Asia will slow due to the decreasing trade between Pakistan and India.

According to SAFTA, Pakistan will bring custom benefit to India according to active commodity list.

The import tariff imposed on the goods imported from India from Pakistan is lower than the one adopted by Pakistan within world trade organization because Pakistan import goods from India without tariff or tariff wall.

Pakistan and India develop trade on double-win base .India import less goods from Pakistan because Pakistan goods can not reach standard.
