Moreover, Indian fabric suppliers have failed to manufacture specialized fabrics like warp knit fabrics, fine woollen fabrics and corduroys, which are used to produce high quality apparels in Europe and the US. This has forced apparel producers to import fabric.
Fabric imports into the country have recorded an annual growth of 33 percent over the last four years, statistics revealed.
