This textile is originated by Max Havelaar France in 2003 who aim to improve life and work condition of workers and labors in developing countries. Instead of dealing with products directly, this organization apply itself to control and nominate the procedure from manufacture and consumption. It mainly helps have-not in Africa who steps into continual developing road through producing a sort of product that can be extended to various categories, such as rice, coffee, cotton etc. In 2003, Max Havelaar Franc launch "Cotton equitable" plan to help Africa countries produce natural bio cotton that is produced into textile to supply France fashion market in summer of 2005 while improve living condition of Africa manufacturer and abide the most basic society labor standard of Africa manufacturing industry.
The price of this textile produced by this cotton is higher 10%-20% than common textile due to high producing cost and environmental protection. The statistic show that the turnover of textile made by"Cotton Equitable" account for about 1% of 30billion Euro France textile turnover. The data from Mas Havelaar France show that one year later, the "Cotton Equitable" produced by France brand companies for Africa countries increased from 700 ton to 4000ton; the companies for it increase from eight ones in March, 2005 to 23 ones this year, such as mail order company La Redoute, Sock brand Kindy, mans wear brand Celio etc, their products including mans T-shirt, Womans T-shirt, Childrens T-shirt, underwear, sock, jeans wear etc.
