The news from The Economic and Commercial Counsellor's Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Pakistan show that Pakistan textile industry hand in a paper to premier for requiring government to establish a total policy with capital50billion Rupee to encourage and support textile industry. He direct that only supported by this policy, Pakistan textile industry can compete with India, China and Bengal in international textile market. In June.29, the premier hold meeting to discuss this paper with textile producers, exporters, Financial Department, Commerce Department and some officials in National Bank.
It is reported that the paper require government to decrease the fee of gas and electric power, debase financing cost, exempt the tariff for importing equipment and accessory, derate tax, adjust tax rate and offer export allowance etc.
In the meeting, the premier require associate department to research the suggestion delivered by textile industry and show that government will set up work team composed by government officials and experts in textile industry to explore strategy for textile industry's long term development and research how to improve textile's competition capability, productivity and expand export.
