To meet the demand of WTO and struggle for entering into WTO with the qualification of developing countries and accelerate associate negotiation schedule, President of Azerbaijan signed the decision to instruct all departments to amend and perfect current law of commerce &trade.
It is disclosed that Azerbaijan s current 13.9%tariff may be increased to 22.9% due to specific product s 30%-50% high tariff. The import agriculture products with high tariff include meat, milk, specific fruit and vegetable, juice, silk etc, especially the one of import chicken, which will reach 80%. However, some import commodities including seed, breeder, birds etc will be posed zero tariffs to restrain customs level. The import wheat outside quota will be imposed on 30% tariff; the custom tariff of alcohol and tobacco also will be increased one double.
Its high tariff are just imposed on knitting product, carpet, garment, specific chemical product, furniture etc. At present, the import customs of these commodities is only 15%.
