Sources reported that the EU had decided to levy anti-dumping charge of 58.9 percent on the larrigan leather product imports for next five years.
EU authorities claim that larrigan moccasins, leggings and other accessories are priced nearly 29 percent lower than the domestically manufactured products, resulting in huge loss for local industry.
Another damaging factor is the rapidly growing market share of Chinese larrigan that soared from 10 in 2001 to 30 percent.
