The business situation basically improved further in the week under report. However, the positive prospects after the Heimtextil could not yet noticeably stimulate the domestic raw material market.
Demand for near dates prevailed. Contracts for future delivery / shipment remained the absolute exception. Firm offering prices from the origins and different price ideas between trade and user are at present further reasons hindering larger turnovers.
In the Upland range were sales registered in Central Asian sorts for the 1st and 2nd quarter 2007, Greek descriptions for the same period of time.
West African types were traded for prompt through the 4th quarter 2007; East African cottons and Sudan Acala as well as Indian for the 1st quarter and Brazil cotton for the 1st and 2nd quarter 2007.
From among the long - and extra long staple sorts were traded: Egyptian GIZA 86 for the 1st and 2nd quarter 2007; Sudan Barakat for the 1st quarter 2007 and Israel Pima for the 1st and 2nd quarter 2007.
