Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong), the leading retail operator at Hong Kong International Airport, officially opened five new stores. Located at the airport’s new Terminal 2 SkyPlaza, the new openings will add a total of 7’000 sq ft (650 sqm) to the retail space Nuance-Watson already manages at the airport and bring the number of Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) stores to 47.
The opening of the five new stores underlines Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong)’s pre-eminence in Hong Kong’s travel retail market while at the same time marking the first step of the company’s ambitious growth and expansion plan for 2007.
The five new outlets are: Amazing Grace, a treasure trove of Asian arts and crafts; Bags Unlimited, offering a vast collection of bags for customers of all ages and nationalities; Calvin Klein Jeans, with the brand’s first ever stand-alone airport boutique; Fortress and Intelligent Home, the leading household electronics and electrical appliances chain store; and Scent & Beauty, creating a sensual world of self-indulgence.
Joining Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) Managing Director Alessandra Piovesana at the opening ceremony as guests of honour were Hong Kong Airport Authority General Manager Eva Tsang and Commercial Director Hans Bakker.
Other VIP attendees at the lavish opening included senior representatives from world-renowned brands such as Amazing Grace, Samsonite, Calvin Klein Jeans, Jurlique, L’Oréal, La Prairie, Samsung, Philips, LG Mobile, Motorola, Everlong, Sony, Canon, Casio, Olympus, Sandisk, JVC, Sharp, Apple and Sony Ericsson.

In addition to further reinforcing our presence at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), the openings underline our long-term commitment to the travel retail industry and the Hong Kong Airport Authority."
"We are delighted to have played a part in the evolution of HKIA into an Airport City. We look forward to continuing to deliver our commitment and provide customers with the highest possible level of satisfaction in this state-of-the-art new addition to the airport’s extensive shopping offer.”
Speaking on behalf of Hong Kong International Airport, Hans Bakker added: “We are glad that Nuance-Watson has put in tremendous efforts to bring these five retail concepts alive in SkyPlaza. Hong Kong International Airport has been able to prove to our operators our strength as a regional hub with constant passenger growth year after year. With that, we are capable to attract renowned brands to bring in exciting ideas and merchandises, like what Nuance-Watson is doing here at Terminal 2.”
