Latest calculations reveal that during July 2007 - June 2008 fiscal Pakistan’s cotton output will reach around 14.1 million bales, 1 million bales over that in last fiscal.
Experts believe that improved water supply for the sowing months will lead to this boost in production.
This will be a great factor for the country as cotton and textiles account for around 60 percent of exports.
Domestic industry is expected to absorb almost 15 million bales in the period.
Pakistan stood at 12.8 million bales in the current year against a target of 12.1 million bales.
