India : Ministry of Textile to promote trade with South Africa

In order to re-enforce business contacts, establish new buyers in Africa, the Council ha firmed-up Buyers-Seller-Meets in South Africa, jointly organized with TEXPROCIL and SRTEPC.
The Indian Textile Delegation will be led by Mr. A K Singh, IAS, Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Textile to South Africa between 16-24 April, 2007.
The Council is a nodal agency sponsored by the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India entrusted with the dual responsibility of monitoring garment exports quotas and promotion of exports of readymade garments from India.
Over the last 25 years, the council has been continuously involved in the task of promoting exports by organising buyer-seller meets, leading trade delegations to potential markets globally, participating in specialised international fairs, organising the India International Garment Fair biannually, organising seminars on fashion and workshops on technical aspects of the industry.
In its constant endeavour to promote and expose Indian garments in the International market for greater visibility and choice of products.
