Workers of UMC Jute Mills, a subsidiary of Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) in Narsingdi went on indefinite strike on April 6.
Around 5,000 workers and employees made a decision of not joining work as they have not received their outstanding salaries and allowances, and weekly wages for ten weeks.
The mill produces around 74 metric tons of jute. Due to this closure Government is losing its earnings.
