EU Clothing Imports in First Quarter 2007

Write: Dana [2011-05-20]

EU’s imports of Chinese clothing surged in the first quarter, as a clear sign that China’s share of the European market may further climb when quotas will be eliminated at the end of the year. Suppliers in Turkey, Tunisia and Morocco were still protected by EU’s restrictions in the January-March period while imports from other origins began declining. Average price of foreign shipments decreased, mainly due to a reduction in Chinese prices.
