Pakistan:Korea plans to open a Textile Research Centre in Karachi

Mr. Young Hawa Jung, Director Korea Trade center,Karachi had a meeting with Mr. Shamim Ahmed Shamsi President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Director KOTRA was received by the Chamber’s Chief alongwith Members Managing Committee.
The Chamber’s Chief briefed the Director about the composition and role of Karachi Chamber towards promotion of business and trade activities locally and globally. He spoke about the hardships being experienced in plants imported from Korea by the Textile Units in Pakistan regarding software installed therein in the Korean language and suggested to modify the same in English language.
He suggested the Director for sending delegation from Korea to Pakistan for broadening the export base of Pakistani pharmaceutical raw material products and said since Pakistan has been internationally recognized as standard pharmaceutical products exporter as such it is need of the hour to interact with Pakistani business community to promote trade and export of these products to Korea and to intensify cooperation and collaboration in the production of pharmaceutical raw material.
The Director, KOTRA said in his address that Korea is happy for support of close relations with Pakistan in exports of petrochemicals and fisheries sector.
He was of the view that due to growing economy of Pakistan, Korea looks forward to work with Pakistan in enhancing trade activities. He said Korea is planning to open a Textile Research Centre at Karachi which would act as a catalyst to develop trading with Pakistan for developing textile products on international standards.
