USA: Apparel retailer rue21 hires Mark Chrystal

rue21, the specialty teen apparel retailer headquartered in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, announced it has hired Mark Chrystal as Senior Vice President of Merchandise Planning and Allocation from American Eagle Outfitters effective June 13, 2008.
Mr. Chrystal was Vice President of Merchandise Planning and Allocation for the aerie brand and of Allocation for the American Eagle brand.
He brings over 9 years of specialty retail experience. Prior to AEO, Chrystal was head of Planning and Allocation for the Disney Stores and Director of Planning for Victoria's Secret.
"Mark's depth and experience will be a tremendous asset to furthering the growth of our brand," said rue21 President and CEO Robert Fisch.

Chrystal is a graduate of The Ohio State University and holds an MBA from the University of London. rue21 operates 382 stores in 41 states and will be opening 100 stores this year.
