USA: H&M Fashion Against AIDS wear

Write: Lars [2011-05-20]

Here’s a sobering stat – at least 27 per cent of people infected by HIV/AIDS don’t even know they’ve been hit, and infection rates among youth, who turn on the mute button when another "use a condom dum dum" lecture starts, are on the rise. Clearly it's not the moment to pretend AIDS is so last decade’s problem. That’s why celebs from the worlds of fashion and music are teaming up with H&M and Designers Against AIDS to help fight the disease and raise awareness.

Katy Perry, Dita Von Teese, Moby, Robyn, N.E.R.D and Cyndi Lauper are among the artists collaborating with H&M on groovy, graffiti-inspired T-shirts, T-shirt dresses, tank tops and bodysuits.

Katy Perry may have kissed a girl but her design on both a bodysuit and a cap-sleeved Tee reminds us that’s its “What’s on the Outside is What Counts” (and no, she doesn’t mean lip gloss). Cyndi Lauper’s black top looks like Girls Just Wanna Have Safe Sex” has been scribbled in pink lippy on it, and Robyn’s T-shirt with printed diamonds says simply “Protect Your Body.”

From $19.90 at H&M stores starting in June.
