Polyester producer Advansa has announced that Nike Golf has created a new collection using Coolmax fabrics with wool for a combination of climate-control properties and soft touch. According to Advansa, the benefits of using Coolmax fabric are in reducing the effect that the heat and humidity would have on the players’ performance.
Coolmax is a high-tech fabric that helps to improve comfort and freshness for the players who wear it by moving perspiration away from the body towards the exterior of the fabric, where it evaporates quickly. This effect, called ‘evaporative cooling’, will help the wearers feel cool and comfortable, allowing them to concentrate on their game.
To meet the needs and demands of new and exciting fabric developments, Advansa has developed special fibres, which can be blended with wool. The result is lightweight and soft fabrics, which combine the warmth abilities and the natural touch of wool with the Coolmax comfort-control properties, keeping the wearer dry and providing outstanding wearing comfort.
Silvia Toledo of Advansa commented, “We are really excited that Nike Golf, a pioneer of technical fabrics has introduced garments made from Coolmax with wool, which feature in the current range and in the newly launched Fall 09 collection. This gives wearers a good opportunity to experience high-performance and natural comfort benefits. It offers unparalleled comfort with excellent climate-control properties.”
Coolmax is a high-performance fabric that helps to improve comfort and freshness of people who wear it. Coolmax fabric is made from with specifically engineered fibres with 4 or 6 channel cross-sections, giving an increased surface. These high-tech fibres transfer moisture quickly to the textile surface and ensure that moisture evaporates fast thereby helping to maintain a balanced body temperature.
