They are B-movie lovers, UFO enthusiasts, sci-fi lovers, otaku, vintage fans, and urban adventurers - forever nostalgic for their childhood in the 1980s, when everything was supposedly simple and easy.
Now they have taken up their pens and started drawing their own comics; not the Japanese ones they grew up reading to, but in their own style, language and attitude.
In their narration, they expose the most delicate and intimate feelings in (literally) black and white.
Special Comix (SC), an indie comic anthology, released its fourth compilation volume Saturday with the theme "Unexpected." With works of 40 artists from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and France, it presents visual stories in a variety of styles.
