The Jingdong Stone Forest Gorge Scenic Area is located in the northeastern part of Pinggu and covers an area of 12 km . It is named after the straight and steep mountains that resemble a stone forest.
The magnificent stone forest is divided into two parts, the eastside and the westside, both of which offer breathtaking views to anyone who visits. Seen from a distance, the stone forest offers spectacular scenery, while on a closer look, they present amazing unthinkable shapes. Some look like giant pens or bamboo shoots towering into the sky while some resemble long lances standing in great numbers, yet others also are like rampant lions, graceful ladies, mischievous monkeys, and enormous elephants. All of them are incredibly beautiful.
In addition to the famous stone forest, there are many other beautiful views. The "NineHeavensFlyingFalls" has a 120-meter drop, the water in ten of the different ponds are all beautifully crystal clear and they do not dry out in any season. The gorge is full of large stones and pine trees sticking out of cliffs while the mountain path leads you to different places each with its own unique scenery, beckoning you to stay.
With vegetation lush, air clean, and a climate pleasant, Jingdong Stone Forest Gorge is an ideal destination for those searching for a great escape from the hustle and bustle of their city life.
