Alexa Ray Joel has been named as the new face of Prell.
The 24-year-old star - daughter of 'Piano Man' singer Billy Joel and supermodel Christine Brinkley - will front a new campaign for the US hair care brand, following in the footsteps of her famous mother.
Alexa said: "I am so excited and honoured to be named the new face of Prell - especially following in the footsteps of my mother."
The campaign will launch in the US later this year and will feature Alexa's music.
Christine fronted the campaign in the 80s, shortly after she married Billy, who she is now divorced from.
The news comes two months after Alexa was taken to a New York hospital after reportedly taking a possible overdose of pills.
Following her release Alexa gave thanks to "everyone for their outpouring of love and support".
Last August, she described herself on her MySpace page as "forgotten".
She also revealed she hated dating and considered herself "terrible" at it.
Alexa - who split up from boyfriend Jimmy Riot twice in 2008 - wrote: "I HATE the game-playing! Can't stand it."
