A new innovation centre called Prospecta for the leather and footwear sector has launched in León, Mexico, to help companies work more closely with each other.

The new centre, funded by the federation government, the city of León and some private investors, will serve as a detailed information resource for tanners, their suppliers, footwear manufacturers and footwear retailers. The project cost an estimated US$6 million to get off the ground.
