Motherhood S/S collection creates fresh nouveau prep look

Motherhood Maternity revealed the first pieces of the Spring/Summer 2010 collection, presenting an assortment of trendy, affordable maternity fashions. The line sees a return to easy femininity that simplifies and softens the dramatic themes of Fall 2009.
Cool colors are important as the weather heats up. Blue emerges as the key color range of the season: from cobalt to midnight, and all shades of denim in between. Jeans are Spring and Summer essentials, ranging in style from frayed hem short shorts to the long and lean dark wash boot cut.
Another all-American trend, stripes are prevalent this season and give strong direction going forward. In navy and white, the nautical standard breaks from tradition by printing placed flowers on top. This updated classic creates a fresh nouveau prep look.
Plaids and checks are the new gingham, making a comeback in tops. A plaid tunic worn with leggings creates a comfortable, stylish look that flatters the pregnant silhouette. Also in patterns, bright floral prints juxtapose border treatments adding contrast and fun. This trend presented in a poplin shift dress takes it back to basics with a 1950's feel. Together with a button-front cardigan and waist defining belt, it presents a First Lady-inspired, White House-ready wardrobe.
"This season is all about the details," said Rebecca Matthias, President and Chief Creative Officer of Motherhood Maternity. "Lace trim, smocking, and rhinestones are the small touches that go a long way, all at a price everyone will love!"
Dressing over two million new moms-to-be each year, Motherhood Maternity offers an extensive breadth of quality hot fashions at low prices especially created for the young and fun expectant mom. Motherhood Maternity can be found nationwide, in Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam and in all Destination Maternity stores.
