Nearly 200 textile manufactures have registered for a government program in the hope of receiving reimbursement for the purchase of their machinery, worth Rp 1.77 trillion (US$175 million).
The registration period for the program closes Monday.
Data from the Industry Ministry shows 170 medium and large textile manufacturers have applied for the Rp 162.48 billion grant, a pay back of around 10 percent under the government scheme.
The government allocated a total Rp 240 billion of the 2009 state budget toward the program, including Rp 190 billion for the initial scheme.
In the second scheme, 20 small and medium textile companies have applied for Rp 40 billion in soft loans to purchase new machinery worth around Rp 60 billion.
