Key industrial minerals players to gather and discuss the future of the market

In the last couple of years the business world has changed significantly. After a period of reorganisation now is the time to move business forward.
Industrial Minerals Events' 20th Industrial Minerals International Congress & Exhibition will take place on 21-24 March 2010 in Miami. It is the only biennial event specialised in the industrial minerals industry and covering a variety of topics.
Gary Goldberg, RioTinto Minerals' chief executive officer, will give an overview of the industrials minerals market, including looking at supply & demand and the impact of the global economic crisis. Rio Tinto announced, in its annual financial results, that minerals production and sales were affected by lower demand and feeling the effects of the reduced economic activity.
Mark Smith, Molycorp Minerals' chief executive officer, will talk about rare earths production and supply from outside China followed by Judith Chegwidden, Roskill Information Services Ltd's Managing Director, who will discuss the future of rare earths. Rare earth prices in China, producer for about 95% of the world's rare earth output, continue to rise due to shortage of supply and rise of demand. Exports quotas have been reduced in the last three years in order to make sure they can satisfy their domestic needs.
