Mar. 11, 2010 - Iranian steelmaker Hormozgan Steel is to start commissioning of its new slab-producing plant two months later than planned. Delays in shipment and in installation of equipment have been cited as reasons for the postponement. Construction is already over 92 percent completed while to date about 70 percent of the equipment has been installed. The new Hormozgan Steel plant will have an annual capacity of 1.5 million mt of slab. It is located close to Bandar Abbas, one of Iran's main ports on the Persian Gulf.
