Canada Fluorspar Inc. (CFL), a specialty mineral resource company engaged in the development and production of fluorspar deposits, today announced that it has submitted an Addendum to its previously submitted Environmental Preview Report and Federal Environmental Assessment in November 2009. The Addendum was prepared in response to the request from the Newfoundland and Labrador Minister of Environment and Conservation for additional information listed in her letter dated January 19, 2010.
CFI has prepared this Addendum in full consultation with members of the provincial Environmental Assessment Committee, and the Federal Environmental Assessment Responsible Authorities (RAs), Federal Authorities (FAs), and Federal EA Coordinator (FEAC). A draft of this Addendum was sent to these agencies for review, and the document was further developed based on their verbal and written responses to ensure that all deficiencies have been comprehensively addressed.
"We are pleased with the outcome of this review and are confident that the Addendum has addressed all the Minister's requirements for further information and that it also meets with those of the federal government," said Mr. Lindsay Gorrill, President and CEO of Canada Fluorspar Inc. "We look forward to a favourable government decision enabling us to move CFI a step closer to creating value for all of its partners and stakeholders. We anticipate providing an update on the government's review and approval during the second quarter."
