Cookson Group reports 2010 performance improvement

Mar. 1, 2011 - Cookson Group Plc, UK-based speciality materials group, reports significant performance improvement in 2010 of its Ceramics division. According to this report, Cookson has a 52% increase in profits in the second half of 2010 as refractory and foundry markets continued to recover. And the business under the brand names Vesuvius and Foseco posts a trading profit of 90.6m., up from 59.5m. in H2 2009. Trading profit of the company in 2010 reaches to 252.1m., up by 126% compared with last year. End-markets have recovered strongly, but generally remain below pre-crisis levels, leaving considerable potential for further improvement.
In addition, Cookson had announced new three years performance targets in January 2011, which set out the ambition and strategy for further strong progress through to end 2013.
