On 12th October, 2009, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sechin, Energy Minister Bhishma Zitko visited Tianwan nuclear power plant. Zhang Guobao, Deputy Director of National Development and Reform Commission and Director of National Energy Bureau, Sun Qin, President of CNNC, Yu Jianfeng, Vice-President of CNNC, and other leaders attended the visit.
Sechin heard the introduction for the preparation of the expansion project. In the main control room of Unit 1, Sechin asked about the instrumentation system design and operation, manipulation of trainers, and Sino-Russian cooperation in detail.
Zhang stressed that safety is the lifeline of nuclear power. Sun Qin hoped that both China and Russia work together to achieve greater progress in the expansion project.
