Recently, National Development and Reform Commission approved the pre-project applications for CNNC Tianwan NPP nuclear power units 3 and 4 and Xudapu Nuclear Power Project Phase I.
Located in Lianyungang city, Jiangsu province, Tianwan NPP planned to construct 8 GW Pressurized Water Reactor nuclear power units in which the 3th and 4th unit will apply Russian WWER Pressurized Water Reactor technology. According to schedule, units 3 and 4 were expected to begin construction respectively in Dec 2012 and Aug 2013.
Geographically situated in Xingcheng city, Liaoning province, Xudapu NPP planned to construct 6 GW Pressurized Water Reactor nuclear power units and Phase I two of them. According to schedule, unit 1 was expected to begin construction in Sep, 2011, estimating that after the two units of the first phase putting into construction, the annual generation capacity will approach to 15 billion kilowatt-hours.
