On Nov 21th, Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Engineering Unit 2 began construction; it marks that Hainan Nuclear Power plant Phase I Engineering begins construction all sidedly, estimating that after the two units of 650 Mwe of the first prase putting into contruction, the annual generation capacity will approach to 9 Twe.
This engineering is jointed contribution and construction by CNNC and China Huaneng Group Company, and located in Tangxing village, Haiwei Town, Changjiang Lizu autonomous county, Hainan province. It can contain 4 Big-size nuclear power units. The Phase I of engineering build two units of 650 Mwe pressurized water nuclear power units, and the total investment is over 20 billion Yuan. The unit 1 has been constructed on Apr 25th, 2010 and plans to combine to the grid at the end of the year of 2014; and the unit 2 is planned to put into commercial operation in the year of 2015.
