Peru moly production in November up by 89pct YoY


According to the Mining Promotion Division of the Directorate General Mining of the Ministry of Energy & Mines in the country, Peruvian production of molybdenum increased by 89.01% in November 2010, the 37.66% tungsten and iron it did in 7.43% over the same month last year.

Molybdenum
The production of this metal increased by 89.01% to 1933 obtained fine metric tonnes compared with that of 1,023 fine metric tonnes reported in November 2009.

In January to November 2010 period, the cumulative production of that mineral is 15.166 fine metric tonnes, up 35.06% to the similar period last year (11.229 fine metric tonnes).

Tungsten
The production of tungsten by Minera Malaga Santolalla SAC at its Pasto Bueno mining unit, located in Ancash, grew by 37.66% from 39 fine metric tonnes in November 2009.

Also, the combined production of this metal rose 14.27% from 574 fine metric tonnes in the period January to November 2009 period.
