Mar. 4, 2010 (China Knowledge) - PetroChina, the nation's top oil producer, on Monday signed a cooperation agreement with Schlumberger, a world leading oil field services provider, sources reported.
Pursuant to the agreement, the two companies will extend their cooperation on exploration and oil well operations in China for three years. Schlumberger will provide PetroChina with advanced technologies to help it maximize oil exploration profits.
The cooperation is expected to enable PetroChina to maintain sustainable rapid development of its upstream business, said the agreement.
PetroChina earlier announced plans to double its output to at least 15 million tons by the end of 2015 to meet increasing demand and to strengthen cooperation with foreign partners, according to an earlier report from China Knowledge.
