On March 25, "2011 China - Vietnam starch alcohol industry supply and demand business forum for two-way" was held in the Guangxi Nanning. 40 businesses represents from Vietnam and more than 50 businesses represents from China attended the conference. They carried on the discussion about co-production of cassava starch ethanol in Vietnam and China. It is reported that Vietnam's cassava is fruitful in resources. The national planting area of cassava amounts to 510,000 hectares. The annual output is 8,600,000 tons at present. Cassava is one of main export commodities in Vietnam. There are approximately 90% cassavas exported to China. Vietnam government plans to further expand the cassava production and increases the export.
