Nowadays an environmental inspection team headed by the municipal leaders is making an inspection and finding out the pollution situation on the coastal areas in Quanzhou city. An environmental program is set to close or regulate over 1000 enterprises around the valley and river within the city.
According to the program the small scale enterprises located nearby 20 rivers will be ordered to suspend or close production as severe pollutant to the rivers. Eight fur processing plants in Puan Leather Industrial Area will be eliminated by the end of year. The control system in effluent treatment plant and online monitor devices will be installed in the Andong Industrial Areas and Kemu Leather Concentrated Area.
The program also requires the facilities for central treatment of sewage to put into operation in the industrial areas before the New Year.
