Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, an exhibition in memory of the victory, entitled Victory belongs to the people is currently on view at Hall 19, 20 and 21.

The Chinese People s Anti-Japanese War was the large-scale Anti-Fascist battlefield in the world. The whole nation fought against foreign invasion and finally won the victory.

Meanwhile, the Chinese artists were inspired to create a number of artistic works in great danger of the country and finally formed the artistic history of the Anti-Japanese war with the artistic works as the main line. A series of touching and grandeur images were established to reveal the violence by the Japanese army and sing the praise of the national heroes.

Since the founding of New China, the contemporary artists have attempted to show their strong responsibility and their sense of mission to the nation, the society and the history. The spirit and the history of the Anti-Japanese war have been maintained through the medium of the art and become one of the driving forces to advance the whole nation forward.

The exhibition comprises more than 80 pieces of collections from the National Art Museum of China and some other artistic organizations, including the traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings and the sculptures.

The exhibition has been divided into three sections as follows. The first part national disaster mainly reflects the disasters brought by the war and historical crises, showing the choice of fate faced by China in the time of internal revolt and external invasion. The second part fighting shoulder to shoulder mainly exhibits the unity of Chinese soldiers and people against Japan, showing the confidence of the Chinese people in the War, and strong will and cohesion of the Chinese people for fighting side by side.

The third part light of victory mainly exhibits the subject that the Chinese people finally obtained the victory of the War and realized the national liberation after up to 14 years of hard and bitter fighting.

The Chinese People s Anti-Japanese War is the first complete victory for the Chinese people s cause of liberation against foreign invasion in the nation s modern history. The exhibition is expected to carry forward the Chinese people s patriotic spirit, enhance the Chinese people's national self-esteem, self-confidence and the sense of pride, staunchly insist on the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics, realize the common cause of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and promote world peace and development.
